Macau's leading jobs portal hello-jobs.com is proud to sponsor the British Business Association of Macao (BBAM) 5th Anniversary Party, took place at the Mansion Poolside of Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 on 22nd September 2011.

Officiating at the event were Henry Brockman, Chairman of the Management Committee of BBAM, Jiji Tu, Managing Director of hello-jobs.com, Echo Chan, Executive Director of IPIM and Director of the Chinese Medical Technology Industrial Park in Hengqin, and Stephen Cartwright, Trade Commissioner at the British Consulate General in Hong Kong.

In his speech to the guests made up of members, representatives of media and friends, Henry Brockman said, "The past five years have been an exciting time for BBAM. The association has developed from its inauguration and now boasts a thriving membership and a number of specialist committees that provide expertise and counsel to not only the membership, but also special interest groups in Macao."

He went on, "We are proud to say that our membership reflects the national and cultural diversity of Macao. We are not just a British association therefore, but a group of like-minded people from different backgrounds. Since its inception, BBAM has held over 50 networking evenings, and over 30 other types of events from business lunches, to focus group working lunches, hosting visiting delegations, arranging business matching, and of course its annual ball."

During the event, BBAM confirmed its commitment to developing yet future. "Although we are proud of what we have achieved over the last five years," said Henry Brockman, "We recognize that we have a duty to keep up with the pace of evolution of this exciting city. Our members have put forward new initiatives and methods to ensure that BBAM continues to grow within Macao society of which we are proud to be a member."

The British Business Association of Macao was launched on 20th July 2006 and established to promote and represent British business interests in the region. During 2008 they opened their official office at the Macao Business Support Centre, 20/F Edificio China Civil Plaza, to represent and serve their members. They will continue to act as a conduit between government and business in both Macao and the UK, whilst creating business, networking and learning opportunities.
